Playing with Words

“When I make a word do a lot of work like that,” said Humpty Dumpty, “I always pay it extra.”

Alice in Wonderland, Lewis Carroll

To offer, to request, to refine, to declare, to joke, to challenge, to compliment—and also to join, to split, to integrate, to blend in, to stand out, to shout, to laugh, to give space, to respond, and even to refuse, to burst in, and to fall silent, to voice, and above all, to listen…

The spectacular performance power of words, and the art of listening to them, are at the heart of this experiential workshop. Through speech games, we will create shared possible worlds that give voice to the feelings, thoughts, opinions, and aspirations of the participating community.

Through playfulness and creativity, the workshop connects participants, refreshes the joy of working together, and strengthens the capacity for creative collaboration.
